About the race
The 2026 Miriam's Kitchen 5k and 10k, Run 4 MK, is a charity running event at Fletcher's Boathouse in Washington, DC that raises funds for Miriam's Kitchen's programs to end chronic homelessness. Points from the race count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and toward the Fall Series. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation.
The event includes the following distances:

- 5k
- 500 meter dash
Course and race services are described as follows. The 5k is an out-and-back on the C&O Canal path, a light gravel flat trail with no major elevation gains. The 10k is a single out-and-back on the same route. Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. Water and sports drink are provided at planned stations: three stations on the 10k at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65, and one station on the 5k at approximately mile 1.55. Awards include top three overall men and women and first and second in standard age groups from 19 and under through 70 plus. Packet pickup is available at Road Runner Sports prior to race day. Live results are posted during the race and final results with series points are published after the event. A Back of the Pack series provides points for runners who average a slower pace and is not a course cutoff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
