Salute to Veterans 5K/10K/Half Marathon - Metro Washington DC
The event takes place at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, VA on November 15, 2026. It offers in-person race distances and a virtual race option for participants who cannot attend on site.

All participants receive a race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Veterans may register for free and Active Duty military may register for $15; other registration fees vary by registration period. Participants registered by November 5 are guaranteed race swag in their size. Packet pickup is scheduled for November 14 at a location to be determined.
The course is generally flat with minor elevation changes. Self-serve water stations are placed at about every 1.5 miles; participants who prefer not to stop may bring personal hydration.
Awards are given to the Top Three Male and Female overall finishers in each distance, Top Three Overall Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters male and female finishers, and the top three athletes in each traditional five-year age group beginning at 10 & Under across all distances.
The virtual race allows participants to run or walk remotely, submit results online after the event, and be eligible for awards and race items when applicable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
