2026 Indian Head Turkey Trot 5k & 10k
This event offers chip-timed 5 km and 10 km races on the Indian Head Rail Trail in White Plains, MD. The course is a flat, paved out-and-back that runs along creeks and through woods; the 10 km is two laps of the same route.
Points from this race count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and also toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and official chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for entries completed before November 4; extra shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees listed by the organizer are: 5k $30 (then $35 after October 31) and 10k $45 (then $50 after October 31); race morning registration increases by $5 per distance. Packet pickup is available at the event; race day registration is offered but shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed.
Aid and logistics include three water stations on the 10k route at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one water station on the 5k at about mile 1.55. Port-a-johns are located near check-in. Live results and series points are published after the race.
