Thanksgiving 5k Van Nuys
The Thanksgiving 5k Van Nuys is a road running event held in Los Angeles at Woodley Park Section #1, 6350 Woodley Ave, Los Angeles, CA 91436, on Saturday November 28, 2026. The course is entirely on paved bike paths and is described as all flat, with mile markers and volunteers at major turns and water stations. The course is certified as a Boston qualifier.
The event is rain or shine. Walkers, stroller users, and walking clubs are explicitly welcome. Water stations use a cup-less system for hands-free dispensing; a reusable cup is available for purchase at packet pickup or race day check-in. Porta potties and free standing park bathrooms will be provided along the course at roughly 1.5 mile intervals, with extra units at the start area.
Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, top three in each age group for all distances, and the top three teams. Race swag includes a custom finisher medal, an event day dry-fit shirt, and a reusable goody bag. Race day packet pickup occurs the Saturday before the event from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at a location to be announced; this is where timing chips, bibs, and shirts are distributed. There is no race day registration. Entrants who cannot attend may be rescheduled to another Elite Sports CA event within the following 12 months.
