Tesla Hertz Run
Tesla Hertz Run is a multi-distance trail running event in Rocky Point, NY on Long Island. The course uses a 10.48 mile loop that runs mainly through the pine barren area and has limited interaction with roads or other outside development.
Distances offered include:
- 150 mile
- 100 mile
- 100K
- 50 mile
- 50K (day)
- 50K (night)
- 10 mile
- Nighttime 10 mile
The event has two staffed aid stations: North Country at the start/finish area and Whiskey Girl at just over 5.5 miles on the loop. Volunteers provide food and drink staples such as PB&J, pretzels, chips, candy, fruit, broth, and perogies, with additional items later in the day including pizza, burgers, and sometimes hot dogs. Organizers note they often include Long Haul as a drink option and will take food requests when possible.
Runners may change their intended distance up until their race starts. Once a race is started, the declared distance must be completed to avoid a DNF designation. Pacers are allowed and may join around dark; crews are allowed at both aid stations though restrictions may apply depending on permit conditions and field size. The organizers describe generous course cutoffs and also plan a volunteer work for entry program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
