Tesla Hertz Run : Rocky Point, NY
The Tesla Hertz Run is a four day and four night trail event held in the Rocky Point pine barrens on Long Island. The course is a 10.48 mile loop that participants repeat to reach their chosen distance; the route is reported as 99.8 percent trail with minimal interaction with roads.
There are two staffed and stocked aid stations on the loop. Supplies include Skratch Labs products, PB&J, pretzels, chips, candy, fruit, broth and pierogies later in the day, plus hot food options such as pizza, burgers and hot dogs. Crews are welcome at both aid stations, though access at the Whiskey Girl station may be limited depending on permits and headcount; organizers will provide details before the race.
Pacer and crew policies are stated: pacers must wear pacer bracelets and sign a waiver. Pacers are allowed after a set portion of the race or during designated dark hours; 150 mile entries must complete at least one lap before using a pacer. Volunteers are used for aid stations, course marshals, kitchen, parking, packet pickup and sweeping; volunteer hours may earn race credit for future events.
The event offers multiple distance options that use the same loop and the same overall course cut-off. Refund and deferral policy: no cash refunds, deferral credits available with conditions and exceptions for military deployment and pregnancy.
