About the race
The Legacy Run in the Park 5K Walk/Run is the event presented by the GSE Shybunko Memorial Fund. It is the third annual edition, scheduled for October 3, 2026 at Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge (25 Corporate Drive, Hauppauge, NY). The event includes a 5K walk and run and raises proceeds for the GSE Shybunko Memorial Fund to provide resources, scholarships, workshops and grants to entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Registration options include a base 5K registration and a reduced entry for participants aged 12 and under. Registration fees are used toward race expenses and are non‑refundable. Registered participants may receive a T-shirt (sizes not guaranteed) and personalized bibs if registration is completed at least three weeks before the event.
Amenities listed for the event include post-race food provided by Caffé Amici, sparkling water by Waterloo, live/text/email results, free finish line photos, and same-day finish line video and pictures. Awards are planned for top three male and female overall finishers, top three in male and female age groups (12 and under; 13-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 plus), and top three company teams by number of registrants.
Participants can pick up bibs starting one hour before the event. Course details are not yet published. Parking is recommended in the Parker Hannifin parking lot across the street from the start/finish area, with entry via Marcus Boulevard because Corporate Drive will be closed to vehicles.
