Legacy Run In The Park 5K Walk/Run
The Legacy Run In The Park 5K Walk/Run is the third annual running event presented by the GSE Shybunko Memorial Fund and scheduled for October 3, 2026. The event takes place at Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge, 25 Corporate Drive, Hauppauge, NY 11788. It is a community 5K walk/run with proceeds benefiting the GSE Shybunko Memorial Fund.
The fund supports entrepreneurs and small business owners by providing scholarships, workshops, continuing business education, and exploring grant opportunities to help start and grow businesses. Net proceeds from the event are directed to those activities.
Event amenities listed by the organizer include T-shirts, post-race food provided by Caffé Amici, sparkling water by Waterloo, live/text/email results, free finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for registrations completed at least three weeks before the event. Bib pickup procedures note that last-minute registrants (within 24 hours) will receive their bib number by text shortly after registration.
Awards are planned for the top three male and female overall finishers, the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups (12 and under; 13-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+), and the top three company teams by number of registrants.
Parking is available in the Parker Hannifin parking lot across the street from the start/finish area; drivers are asked to enter via Marcus Blvd because Corporate Drive will be closed to vehicles.
