Anthony's Red Shoe FUNd Run 5K
Anthony's Red Shoe FUNd Run 5K is a community 5K held at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. The course begins at the Stony Brook Bookstore patio, follows John S. Toll Drive and Circle Road, and finishes at the Stony Brook Union patio. The total distance is 3.1 miles. All participants are asked to stay on the sidewalks.
Registration is not yet open; organizers plan to open registration ahead of the event. Parking is available at LaValle Stadium on Stadium Road. Bib pickup is handled outside the bookstore patio at 242 Frank Melville Library, Room N0001; a bib number is required for pickup and last-minute registrants receive their bib number by text. Registering three weeks in advance qualifies a registrant for a personalized bib.
Amenities listed for the event include a T-shirt for the first 250 registrants, finisher medals, lunch, an after party with food trucks, live/text/email results, and free finish line photos. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women in these age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. The event supports the Ronald McDonald House Long Island capital campaign to build a new $30M house at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.
