Anthony's Red Shoe FUNd Run 5K at Stony Brook University
Anthony's Red Shoe FUNd Run 5K takes place on October 3, 2026 at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. The event includes a main 5K route and a 100 meter kids dash for children 10 and under. Registration proceeds and sponsorship support Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro's capital campaign to build a new $30M house at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.
The course begins at the Stony Brook Bookstore patio, follows John S. Toll Drive and Circle Road around campus, and finishes at the Stony Brook Union patio. The total distance for the 5K is 3.1 miles. All participants are asked to stay on the sidewalks along the route.
Amenities listed for the event include lunch, an after party with food trucks, finisher medals, live results via online and text, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for participants who register at least three weeks in advance. The first 250 registrants receive a T shirt. Parking is available at LaValle Stadium on Stadium Road; directions indicate entry to campus via Shirley Kenny Drive and parking at LaValle Stadium before proceeding to the Union Building lobby for registration. Bib pickup is handled outside the bookstore patio at 242 Frank Melville Library, Room N0001.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 20 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
