Event Overview
The Tails & Trails 5k Walk/Run is a running event taking place at Conestee Park in Greenville, South Carolina. This is the 9th annual edition of the event. The proceeds support Greenville County Animal Care, which is described as the largest open-admission animal shelter in South Carolina.
Event Details
The single event distance is a 5k. Participants can run or walk. The event is open to participants with or without a dog. Kids aged 6 and under can participate for free, though they do not receive a race bib or t-shirt.
After the race, there is a vendor village and an award ceremony. The event also includes puppy pools.
Registration and Pricing
Registration pricing follows a tiered structure:
- $30 for early bird registration (until April 13, 2026).
- $35 for regular registration (April 14-25, 2026).
- $40 for last-minute registration (April 26 - May 9, 2026), with t-shirt sizes not guaranteed during this period.
T-shirt sizing and availability are also not guaranteed for registrations after April 20th.
Awards
Awards are presented in several categories:
- Top 3 male and female overall finishers.
- Top 3 male and female finishers in each age group. The listed age groups are 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at the Greenville County Animal Care facility. On race day, packet pickup starts at the race site, Lake Conestee Nature Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
