Azalea Festival 5k

The Azalea Festival 5k takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Pickens, South Carolina. The 5-kilometer race starts and finishes at Doodle Park (415 E. Cedar Rock St) on a certified course and is chip timed.

This event is the third race in the Pickens County 5k Race Series. Runners who complete three of the four series races receive race series swag and are eligible for series awards. All proceeds from the race go to the Beverly M. Smith Scholarship Fund, administered by the Pickens Women’s Association, a non-profit civic organization. The scholarship is awarded annually to a female graduate of Pickens High School for leadership and civic involvement, and proceeds above the scholarship amount are donated to local charities.

Awards include cash prizes for overall male and female finishers: first $100, second $75, and third $25. Awards are given three deep for overall and Masters divisions, with age-group awards at 10-year intervals. Family age groups this year include under 10, 10 to 14, and 15 to 19 with specified award depths.

Packet pick-up is handled under the shelter at Doodle Park the day before the race and on race morning. Parking is available on E. Cedar Rock St and at City Works on Railroad St. A course map is provided by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
