Event Details

The Azalea Festival 5k Run and Walk takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Pickens, South Carolina. It is the third race in the Pickens County 5k Race Series. Participants who complete three out of the four races in the series receive series swag and are eligible for series awards.

Course and Timing

This is a chip-timed race on a certified course. It starts and finishes at Doodle Park, located at 415 E. Cedar Rock St. in Pickens. An award ceremony is scheduled after the last runner completes the course.

Awards and Registration

Cash awards are given to the overall male and female finishers: $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $25 for third. Awards are also given three deep for overall and masters categories, with age group awards at 10-year intervals. A special youth focus includes awards for under 10, 10-14, and 15-19 age groups. The entry fee is $25, with the price increasing after March 30, 2026.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available at Doodle Park on the Friday before the race and on race morning. Participants who register by April 16, 2025, receive a tee shirt. Parking is available on E. Cedar Rock St. and at City Works on Railroad St.

Beneficiary

All proceeds from the race go to the Beverly Smith Scholarship Fund, administered by the non-profit Pickens Women’s Association. This scholarship is awarded annually to a female graduating from Pickens High School who demonstrates leadership and civic skills. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
