Swaledale Marathon, 13 June 2026

The Swaledale Marathon is an annual fall running and challenge walk event organised by Swaledale Outdoor Club. The course covers 24 mile of Swaledale scenery and requires competitors to navigate the route themselves. Participants must complete the course within 10 hours.

The event starts and finishes at Fremington Sunday School in Reeth, DL11 6AR. The minimum age to take part is 14 on the day of the event. Anyone aged 14 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire route. No dogs are allowed on the course.

Entry for the 2026 event closed on 10 January 2026. The standard entry fee was £28. After deducting event costs and charitable donations, income from the marathon is used to support the running of Swaledale Outdoor Club, which operates as a non-profit body and has organised the marathon since 1979.
