Mental Elf Festive Fun Run - Darlington
The Mental Elf Festive Fun Run is a community 5 km event held on 29th November 2026 in South Park, Darlington. The route is two laps around the park and passes the park's main landmarks. The event is non-competitive and has returned for a third year.
Participation options include walking, jogging, skipping or running the 5 km route. Children aged 5 and under can take part for free; all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Wheelchairs and pushchairs are welcome. Bicycles and scooters are not permitted for safety reasons.
Well behaved dogs on short leads are welcome, and festive fancy dress is encouraged with prizes available. Entry fees contribute to event costs and help raise funds for local mental health services. A suggested fundraising target of £20 is set for participants.
An entry ticket includes a runner's medal, a goody bag, a warm-up led by a fitness professional, some entertainment, and medical support on the day. Free entries for children aged 5 and under do not include a goody bag, though spare medals may be available while stocks last.
The event organisers ask participants to be mindful of other runners, spectators and children when bringing dogs or pushchairs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
