Event Overview
The Litton Birks Fell Race is a fell running event categorized as AS (medium difficulty). The main senior race covers approximately 5 km with around 362 m of ascent. The course traverses the landscapes of Littondale and Upper Wharfedale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A new course was adopted in 2024.
Event Details
The event takes place on Saturday, November 21, 2026. The location for registration and prize-giving is the Queens Arms pub in Litton.
In addition to the senior race, junior races will be available for various age categories: under 9's, under 12's, under 14's, and under 17's. Distances and ascent for juniors are approximate. Junior entry is £3 per runner and is only available on the day of the event.
Entry for the senior race is available online. Fees are £5 for FRA members and £6 for non-members. The minimum age for the senior race is 17 years or older.
Schedule and Venue
Registration opens at 9:30 AM. Junior races start at 10:30 AM. The senior race will not start before 12 noon.
Parking is available in a field located 300 m from the start. Attendees are encouraged to follow signs and marshal instructions and to consider car sharing. Refreshments including teas, coffees, soft drinks, cakes, and sweets will be available in a tent in the beer garden.
Required Kit
Participants in the senior race must bring and be prepared to carry the following mandatory kit: a map, compass, whistle, waterproof top with integral hood and taped seams, waterproof bottoms with taped seams, hat, and gloves. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
