Sussex Downs Trail Run
The Sussex Downs Trail Run takes place in the South Downs National Park, based at Plumpton Racecourse near Lewes. The courses use tree-lined paths and open trails, climb up to the South Downs Way, and offer views over the Sussex countryside, Seven Sisters Country Park and distant sea views. Each route begins with a flattish warm-up section of about 3.5 km before a sustained climb to the ridge, includes a loop toward Brighton, then a descent and a flat final 3 km to the finish.

- 21.3 km Half Marathon route (382 m elevation gain)
- 15.5 km Trail route (272 m elevation gain)
- 10.8 km Shorter trail route (200 m elevation gain)
The event is chip timed and provides water stations, on-course refreshments, first aid cover and encouraging marshals. Finishers receive a metal medal, a finisher goodie and a personalised certificate. The venue is described as easily reachable from Brighton, Haywards Heath, Lewes and Burgess Hill via the A27 and A23. The race is plastic free so participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. The course is waymarked using pink arrows and pink tape. No dogs are allowed at the event.
