The Dark Downs is a night running event on 3 October 2026 at Plumpton Racecourse, Lewes, on the South Downs. The event comprises two looped races that start at dusk and continue into the dark. Course and logistics

The South Downs course features rolling hills, runnable trails and largely untechnical terrain. The area holds a Dark Sky Reserve Award from 2016, noted for its starry nights. The course is fully marked with high-visibility, reflective signage and marshals are positioned at regular intervals. Aid stations are provided and staffed by volunteers.

The 50k race is included in a South Downs "50k" Triple Crown series, in which runners may choose three races from a set of five to attempt the Crown.
