Inaugural Sussex County Habitat for Humanity 5K Run & Competitive Walk
The event is a community run and walk taking place on September 19, 2026, at Sandhill Fields on Sand Hill Road in Georgetown, Delaware. It offers timed and non-timed participation options and is organized to benefit Sussex County Habitat for Humanity.
Distances offered:
- 5K run
- 5K competitive walk for registered competitive walkers only
- 1 mile non-competitive walk
Registration pricing is listed for each distance with the 5K run and competitive walking entries priced at $30 and the 1 mile non-competitive walk at $20. Race shirts and post race refreshments are provided to participants. Timing is chip based using the MYLAPS BibTag system with results posted online during and after the event.
Awards include top overall male and female, top male and female masters, and medal awards by ten-year age groups from 13 and under through 70 and older. Top finisher awards for overall and masters are scored by gun time; other age groups are scored by chip (net) time.
