Inaugural Sussex County Habitat for Humanity 5K run, 1 mile walk, Kids dash
This event is the inaugural running and walking fundraiser for Sussex County Habitat for Humanity. It takes place at Sandhill Fields on Sand Hill Road in Georgetown, Delaware on September 19, 2026. The program includes several participant options:
- 5K run/walk
- Competitive walking 5K (must walk the entire course; no running or jogging allowed)
- 1 mile non-competitive walk
- Kids dash
Amenities include race shirts and post race refreshments. Awards are given to top male and female overall finishers and to top masters; those overall and masters awards are scored by gun time. All other age group awards are scored by chip net time. Medals are presented to the top three in each age group and to the top three male and female walkers. Timing uses the MYLAPS BibTag system provided by R2R Timing. Results will be posted online during the event and complete results will be posted afterward. Photos will be posted on the Races2Run Facebook page following the event. No dogs are allowed on the course due to insurance liability. Bibs are non transferable and registration fees apply.
