Inaugural Sussex County Habitat for Humanity 5K run / 1 mile walk / Kids dash
This event is a multi-distance running and walking event scheduled in Georgetown, Delaware on September 19, 2026, at Sandhill Fields on Sand Hill Road. It features several participation options and on-site amenities.
Distances available:
- 5K run
- Competitive walking 5K - participants must walk the entire course, no running or jogging permitted
- 1 mile non-competitive walk
- Kids dash
Participants receive race shirts and post race refreshments. Awards are given by overall and age categories; top overall and top masters are scored by gun time while other age group awards use chip net time. Medals are planned for top three finishers in age groups and for top walkers.
Race timing will use the MYLAPS BibTag chip system operated by R2R Timing. Results will be posted online during the event and complete results will be available after the race. Event policies note that no dogs are allowed due to insurance liability, bibs are non-transferable, and registrations are non-refundable. Registration fees vary by registration period and category.
