About the race
The Cannonball 5k Race & Trenny Elliott Memorial Walk in Lewes, Delaware is a community running and walking event that starts and finishes at the Lewes Historical Society and follows a flat course through historic parts of town. The event includes a competitive 5k race, a 5k walk division, and a 1 mile fun walk.
The event supports the Lewes Historical Society and fundraising is directed toward repairs and maintenance of the Cannonball House. Post-event amenities include custom shirts, awards, post-race refreshments, and a post-race celebration at the Sussex Tavern where participants aged 21 and over receive a complimentary beer.
Timing is provided using the ChronoTrack B Chip system. Awards are presented to overall and masters winners and to top finishers in multiple age categories, with awards presented within 20 minutes following the final finisher.
Registration pricing is tiered: pre-registration through September 6 is listed at $30, race week registration through September 12 is listed at $35, and race day registration is listed at $40. Mail-in registration options are noted and organizers request mailed entries arrive by the Monday of race week to guarantee event shirts and swag.
