2027 Summit Point 5k, 10k & Half Marathon
The event offers three race distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
Held at Summit Point Motorsports Park in Summit Point, WV, the courses run on a paved raceway and are configured as out and back routes with small elevation changes. The event is chip timed and includes a finisher’s medal and a technical event shirt for participants. A virtual race option is available.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series, and points also count toward the Fall Series. Live results will be posted on Athlinks, a QR code will link to live timing at the venue, and final results with series points are posted the Monday following the race.
Water and support: the half marathon has nine water stations at approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.1, 4.65, 6, 7.1, 8.55, 10, and 11.65; the 10k has three water stations at about 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65 miles; the 5k has one water station near mile 1.55. Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are onsite.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age groups from 19 and under up to 70 plus; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age group awards.
The race benefits Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue, an organization that rescues and cares for Great Danes, provides medical treatment and spay/neuter services, offers training and socialization, and places dogs in new homes.
Registration notes: published registration fees vary by distance with deadline pricing and a shirt guarantee for registrations completed before Dec 18.
