The 2025 Summit Point race is held on December 27 at Summit Point Motorsports Park in Summit Point, WV (201 Motorsports Park Circle; GPS 39.241527, -77.980065). Distances offered are:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half-marathon
The event includes a virtual race option. Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and the race is chip timed. The race benefits the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League (MAGDRL).
Course, support, and logistics
All routes run on the paved motorsports park and are out-and-back courses with some small elevation changes. Water and sport drink stations are placed along the courses at approximately these mile markers: half-marathon near 1.55, 3.1, 4.65, 6, 7.1, 8.55, 10, and 11.65; 10k near 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65; 5k near 1.55. Water stations may change as needed. Restrooms are available onsite.
Packet pickup is available at the event; organizers recommend arriving about 60 minutes before a runner's event to check in. Race day registration is offered; sizes for shirts cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants. T-shirts are guaranteed to those registered before December 15. Registration fees differ by distance and increase after December 15 and again on race morning.
Awards and results
Top three overall men and women receive awards. Age-group awards are given for 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+; top three overall finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes.
