About the race
Storm the Bluffs is an off-road event on December 5, 2026 in Minnesota City, MN at Bronk Unit Plowline Trails, 26524 Brook Drive. It is the fifth and final event in the Storm Trail Race Series.
Race options include:
- 5k trail run (3.4 miles)
- 15k trail run (9.32 miles)
- 15k mountain bike race (9.32 miles)
- Duathlon: 15k run, 15k mountain bike, 2k run (relay options available)
The 15k routes use steep climbs and wooded singletrack with a nearly one-mile downhill finish on gravel. Mountain bikers follow most of the 15k course with fast-rolling single and double track and a steep climb early in the course. The 5k course contains short, steep sections with no flat segments. GPX files are provided.
Aid stations: one aid station on the 15k course at 5.4 miles (also reached again at mile 8.4) and accessible to the 5k at about mile 1.7. Duathletes also have an aid station at the start/finish area. The event is cupless; participants should bring reusable cups or refillable bottles. E-bikes are not allowed. There are no cutoffs for the trail races.
Registration is limited to 120 participants and will close when the limit is reached or at 11:59 PM on November 30, 2026, whichever comes first. Race shirts can be purchased during registration; shirt order deadline is October 31, 2026. Thirty percent of each registration fee and all registration donations will be donated to Family & Children's Center for Youth Mental Health Programs.
