Trinona
Trinona is a multisport event held at Winona Lake Park Bandshell in Winona, MN. The course combines an open-water swim beneath Sugarloaf, a bike route through bluff country, and a run around Lake Winona. The finish area is at the historic bandshell.
Course overview includes the following options:
- Olympic Course: .93 mile swim, 25.3 mile bike, 6.2 mile run
- Sprint Course: .25 mile swim, 11 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Aquabike Olympic Course: .93 mile swim, 25.3 mile bike
- Aquabike Sprint Course: .25 mile swim, 11 mile bike
- Duathlon: 2.1 mile run, 11 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
The event weekend features a Saturday packet pick-up and multisport expo with athlete course talks. On race day there is transition access for athletes, race day packet and timing chip pick-up, swim waves, a duathlon mass start, a post-race meal, and distance awards once results are available.
Event services include professional timing, a custom finisher medal for participants, a commemorative event T shirt by District, and a custom water bottle. Awards are presented to top overall athletes in multiple divisions and to age group top three finishers in five year increments starting with 19 and under. Additional awards include top relay teams and King and Queen of the Bluff for the fastest ascent of Garvin Heights. Volunteer roles provide a custom volunteer race T shirt and food.
