Event overview
Trinona is a multi-discipline event held in Winona, MN on June 13-14, 2026. The weekend includes Olympic and Sprint triathlons, Aquabike events at Olympic and Sprint distances, a Duathlon (run/bike/run), and youth races for ages 5 to 15. Olympic race entries are offered as Elite Division, Age Group, and Relay. Sprint races include Age Group and Relay categories. Trinona Kids has separate age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15.
The race course includes a swim beneath the Sugar Loaf peak in Lake Winona, cycling on nearby country roads, and a flat run along Lake Winona that finishes at the Lake Park bandshell.
Locations, rules and logistics
Primary locations are Winona Lake Park Bandshell (113 Lake Park Dr, Winona, MN) for the main Trinona events and Winona Family YMCA (902 Parks Ave, Winona, MN) for Trinona Kids activities and packet pickup. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before and the morning of the event at these locations.
Age eligibility: participants must be 18 by 12/31/2026 to enter the Olympic distances, and 13 by 12/31/2026 to enter Sprint triathlon, Duathlon, and Aquabike Sprint distances. The event is USAT sanctioned and follows the US Center for Safe Sport policies, including Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies.
