St. Veronica 6K Run/Walk for Scholarships
The St. Veronica 6K Run/Walk for Scholarships is an annual charity event on the 6K loop of the Cook County Forest Preserve Vollmer Grove Trail in Vollmer Road Trails, Olympia Fields, Illinois. The event supports the St. Veronica Kwanzaa Ministry Scholarship program and offers both a timed run and a noncompetitive walk.
- 6K Run (3.71 miles) Timed event for competitive runners
- 3K Walk (1.8 miles) Noncompetitive walk suitable for all ages
Race entries include chip timing, a marked paved trail course, race swag, and prizes. The course is stroller friendly and dogs are allowed on leash. Packet pickup will take place on race day at the start area. The course time limit is 90 minutes.
Registration information: registration opens January 2, 2026 and closes September 19, 2026. Standard registration fee is $35.00; race day registration is $40.00 and a T-shirt is not guaranteed for race day registrants. Early registrants who register by September 18, 2026 receive a complimentary event T-shirt.
Awards are given as medals to the top three overall finishers and to the top three in each age group: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Parking is available at the start area with an overflow lot off Flossmoor Road about 1 mile away, and the Olympia Fields Metra station is approximately 2 miles from the start area.
