St. Veronica 6k Run/Walk for Scholarships
This annual event at Vollmer Road Trails in Olympia Fields, Illinois supports the St. Veronica Kwanzaa Ministry Scholarship program. The course uses the 6K loop of the Cook County Forest Preserve Vollmer Grove Trail and welcomes participants of all ages to run or walk.

Race entries include chip timing, a clearly marked paved course, race swag, and prizes. Early bird registrants by September 18, 2026 receive a complimentary event T-shirt. Standard registration is listed at $35 and race day registration is available for $40 with the T-shirt not guaranteed. Registration opens January 2, 2026 and closes September 19, 2026. Packet pickup will take place on race day at the start area.
The course is stroller friendly and dogs are allowed on a leash. Parking is available at the start area with an overflow lot off Flossmoor Road about 1 mile from the start; the Olympia Fields Metra station is approximately 2 miles from the start area. Awards include medals for the top three overall finishers and the top three in these age groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The course time limit is 90 minutes.
