Calumet Park Light the Darkness 5K
The Calumet Park Light the Darkness 5K is a walk/run held at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana, with a course that passes by hills and lakes. The route is off public roads and the event environment closes roads to motorized vehicles for participants.

The event supports suicide prevention and includes participant categories and awards. Awards are planned for top overall male and female, top male and female 40 and over, and the top three males and females in age groups ranging from 8 and under through 80 and over. Additional awards are planned for Clydesdale (men 210 lbs and over) and Athena (women 170 lbs and over) categories; participants in these categories are not eligible for overall or age group awards.
