Christmas Without Cancer : 12th Annual 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community 5K run/walk held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, with the course starting and finishing at Klein Park (Circle Park, near 97th and Homan). The route is outdoors through the surrounding neighborhood and the course is certified.
Registration options include in-person and virtual participation. Online registration is available from May 29 through September 11, and online registrants who sign up by August 30 are guaranteed a T-shirt in their selected size. Early pricing and group discounts apply through July 31; standard entry pricing applies thereafter. In-person registration and packet pickup take place at the Hamilton B. Maher Community Center on dates the week of the event.
Included with registration are an event medal, the option for chip timing, and eligibility for awards and fundraising incentives. Trophies are awarded to top female and male finishers in overall and multiple age categories (1–9, 10–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+), with additional pins for top finishers in each category. Fundraising incentives and team awards include cash gift card prizes for top individual and team fundraisers and the largest registered team.
Dogs on leash with up-to-date vaccinations are permitted. Local vendors and merchandise such as Kona Ice, Emerald Cup coffee, ornaments, and hats are available for purchase.
