Event overview
The event on March 15, 2026 includes road race distances held in Georgetown and at Fletcher’s Boathouse along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path. Distances offered:
- 5k
- Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
The full marathon is Boston-qualifying and has a 6-hour time limit. Points from these races count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, Endurance, Back of the Pack series, and the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. The race benefits Semper Fi & America’s Fund. Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-FIT) event shirt, and chip timing. There will be no on-site race registration.
Course and logistics
Courses run on the C&O Canal path, described as a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change. The half marathon is an out-and-back; the full marathon consists of two out-and-backs. The 5k is an out-and-back route on the same canal path. Water and aid: the marathon course has 14 water stations and the half has seven; the 5k has one water station. Some stations will offer Gatorade; locations may change. Restrooms are provided near the half/marathon start area (port-a-johns) and in the facility at the 5k start. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing tent but the organizer is not responsible. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to age-group placings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
