2027 St. Patrick's Half and Full Marathon
The event on March 14, 2027 takes place in Georgetown, Washington DC, starting and finishing near 3530 Water St NW. Points scored at the event count toward the Year‑Long Endurance and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Winter Series. The race benefits Semper Fi and America’s Fund and offers a virtual race option.
Course and distances:
- Half marathon: out and back on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal path, light gravel, minimal elevation change
- Full marathon: two out and back loops on the same canal path
The full marathon is a Boston qualifying course and has a six hour time limit. Walkers are welcome. Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing.
Water and race support are specified: the marathon course has 14 water stations at listed mile markers and the half has 7 stations at approximate mile markers; Gatorade is available at some stations and placements are subject to change. Port a johns are located near the check in area in Georgetown. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing tent but the organizer is not responsible for valuables.
Packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on site race registration. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in multiple age groups; overall top three are not eligible for age group awards. T shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before March 3; extras are ordered for later registrants on a first come basis. Parking is available along Water Street near the Potomac Boat Club and the event lists GPS coordinates for meeting and parking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
