About the race
2026 The District’s Turkey Trot is a timed running event at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC that awards series points for the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series and counts toward the Fall Series.

- 10k
The course is paved and mostly flat with one considerable hill. The 5k is an out-and-back route and the 10k consists of two laps. Water stations are provided: five stations along the 10k at approximately mile markers 0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7 and 5.6, and two stations along the 5k at approximately mile markers 0.6 and 2.5. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located across from the Tennis Center. Parking is available at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center, 5220 16th St NW.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt and chip timing. A virtual race option is available for those unable to attend in person. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Awards are presented to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place male and female finishers in the age categories 19&Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Top three overall finishers are not eligible for age group awards.
Packet pickup is available at the event and there will be no on-site race registration. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before November 11; extras may be available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. The race benefits Warriors Ethos, an organization that assists service members, veterans, spouses and caregivers with career planning and professional development.
