About the race
The District's Turkey Trot is a before-Thanksgiving running event held at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. The event offers in-person and virtual participation options and welcomes walkers and strollers.

The course is paved and described as mostly flat with one considerable hill. The 5k is an out-and-back route and the 10k consists of two laps. The event uses chip timing and provides a finisher's medal and a technical event shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before November 11; additional shirts are ordered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Water is available along the course: five stations on the 10k at approximately mile markers 0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7, and 5.6, and two stations on the 5k at approximately mile markers 0.6 and 2.5. Some stations will offer Gatorade. Restrooms are located across from the Tennis Center.
Packet pickup is offered at Road Runner Sports in Arlington. The race benefits Warriors Ethos. Results are posted live and final race results with series points are published after the event. Awards are presented to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age categories spanning 19 and under through 70 and over.
