2026 The District's Turkey Trot 5k & 10k
The event offers chip timed road races in Rock Creek Park with both an in-person and a virtual participation option. Distances run on a paved route include:
- 5k, out-and-back on the paved park route
- 10k, two laps of the paved route
The course is mostly flat with one considerable hill. Water stations are placed along the routes; the 10k has multiple stations and the 5k has two, and some stations will offer Gatorade. Restrooms are located across from the Tennis Center. Parking is available at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center, 5220 16th St NW, Washington, DC.
Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical race shirt (Drifit), and chip timing. Shirts are guaranteed for runners who register before the stated cutoff date; additional shirts may be available afterward on a first-come basis. Packet pickup is available the day before at Road Runner Sports in Arlington with a special in-store discount during pickup, and packet pickup is also available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration.
The race awards top finishers overall and across standard age-group categories and awards are not duplicated between overall and age-group placings. The event benefits Warriors Ethos and counts points toward the organizer’s year-long and fall series, including the Back of the Pack series for higher average paces.
