2026 DC Turkey Trot 5k & Half
The event offers two distances running along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path in Georgetown: a half marathon that begins and ends near the Potomac Boat Club in Georgetown, and a 5k that begins and ends at Fletcher’s Boathouse. Both courses are out and back on a light gravel canal path with minimal elevation change.
Points from the event count toward the 5k, Endurance and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. A QR code will be available at the event for immediate result viewing. Runner tracking via SMS is available at registration.
Practical notes: walkers and strollers are welcome. There is no on-site race registration. Packet pickup is available at the event. Restroom facilities are provided near the start/finish areas; port-a-johns are placed near the Georgetown check-in area. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing tent but the event is not responsible for valuables.
