2026 DC Turkey Trot 5k and Half
The event on November 22, 2026 offers two race distances and awards series points toward the 5k, Endurance and Back of the Pack Series as well as the Fall Series.

- Half marathon
Both races run on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal path. The courses are light gravel with minimal elevation change and are out and back. The half marathon starts and ends in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club; the 5k starts and ends at Fletcher's Boathouse. Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual race option is available.
Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. Water and Gatorade are provided at stations; the half marathon has seven water stations at approximately miles 2.1, 3.8, 4.3, 6.55, 8.8, 9.3 and 11, and the 5k has one water station at approximately mile 1.55. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing table but organizers are not responsible for valuables. There is no on site race registration.
Registration fees listed in advance are 5k $35 until October 31 ($40 after) and half marathon $70 until October 31 ($75 after); prices increase by $5 on race morning. T shirts are guaranteed to runners registered before November 11. Packet pickup is available the Saturday before the race at Road Runner Sports in Arlington. Final results and series points will be posted after the event.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd place in age categories 19 and Under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus.
