St Agnes Swimrun
St Agnes Swimrun takes place on Saturday 11 July as part of Scilly Swimrun 2026. The event offers two course options that link the island of St Agnes with the tidal island of Gugh using a mix of trail running and open water swims.
The St Agnes course is described as a 7 km loop; participants may complete one or two loops to make a 7 km or 14 km race. The 7 km lap sequence starts with a 1 km run, a 600 m swim, a 1.6 km run, a 700 m swim across to Gugh, a run around Gugh, a swim back to St Agnes and a final run to the community centre.
Distances:
- 7 km one loop or two loops option
- 14 km two loops of the 7 km course
A boat transfer from St Marys to the start island is included in the entry price for participants. Entries are available for solos and pairs with specified entry fees that increase after 1 May. Mandatory kit notes include a wetsuit (not a trisuit), a whistle and a foldable cup or soft flask; a towfloat is required for solo participants in the Archipelago and Northern Traverse events. Water temperatures in July typically range from 14 to 16 °C. Medical and water safety teams operate on land and sea with powerboats covering the swims. Spectator locations include the start and finish, the sandbar joining St Agnes to Gugh and a pub beachfront viewing spot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
