Tide Race Scilly 2026
The Tide Race on 14 August 2026 offers a 10 km event and a 2 km family race between the islands of Tresco and Bryher. The 10 km course starts on Tresco, crosses the temporarily exposed sandbar to Bryher, follows a full circumnavigation of Bryher, then returns across the sandbar to Tresco before the tide returns.

Runners must complete the full course within a two hour time limit. For safety, any competitor who finishes the Bryher loop with less than 15 minutes remaining will not be permitted to begin the return crossing because of the incoming tide; this cut-off is strict.
The crossing involves running through water. Water depth is expected to be no deeper than thigh-deep for most runners and, in certain low air pressure conditions, may be deeper but generally below waist height. Feet will get wet and footwear is mandatory for the water crossing.
All participants receive a technical event vest that must be worn during the race. The family 2 km option is intended for children and families; children will be given a Scilly60 Swimrun vest to borrow. Young people aged 13 and over may enter the full 10 km with parental permission.
