St Mary’s Swimrun
St Mary’s Swimrun is part of Scilly Swimrun 2026 and takes place on Thursday 27 August 2026 on St Mary’s in the Isles of Scilly. The event offers two course options that each circumnavigate the island and combine coastal trail running with sheltered sea swims. The routes pass through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and include inter-island swimming across clear coastal waters.
Race entries are available for solo competitors and for pairs. Entry fees increase at set dates during the registration period with distinct pricing for solo and pair entries for each course. Safety provision includes a dedicated medical team on land and at sea and a large water safety team operating from powerboats.
Typical sea temperatures are given as 14–16 °C in July and 15–16 °C in August. Participants must supply and wear mandatory kit including a wetsuit not a trisuit, an easily accessible whistle, and a foldable cup or soft flask. Optional equipment listed by the organiser includes a pull buoy or calf floats, paddles, and a tether for pairs.
Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from the event. Many competitors stay on St Mary’s while off island visitors will need to arrange boat transport. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
