Spring Trail Chase 10K
The Spring Trail Chase is a 10K trail race organized by the Chicago Area Runners Association at The Forge Lemont Quarries in Lemont, Illinois on May 17, 2026. It is CARA's only suburban trail race and is part of the 2026 Chicago Racing Circuit.
The course is generally flat and runs mostly on well maintained crushed limestone with short sections of wooden bridge crossings, gravel, and wood chip. The route begins within The Lawn outdoor music venue and follows the Illinois & Michigan Trail Passage, the Lemont Heritage Quarry Trails, and the Forge adventure park grounds. Surroundings are mostly wooded with views of water filled quarries and park features.
The event is chip timed and includes overall awards for the top three finishers in male, female, and non binary categories, plus recognition awards for the top three in age groups ranging from 14 & Under through 85 & Over. The field capacity is 450 and registration is scheduled to close on May 16 or earlier if capacity limits are reached. Packet pick up is scheduled on two pre event dates at local Fleet Feet stores and on site, and packet mailing has a May 4 deadline. The event does not offer refunds or deferrals and there is no virtual option. A gear check is available with a one bag limit and participants must follow posted procedures.
