Spreckels Lake 5K / SF Lightning Mile
Spreckels Lake 5K / SF Lightning Mile is held in Golden Gate Park at John F. Kennedy Drive and 36th Avenue in San Francisco, CA. The event is organized by DSE Runners and offers two separate races that may be entered individually or together.
Runners check in at John F. Kennedy Drive and 36th Avenue. The one mile race uses an uphill approach to a start near Transverse Drive and finishes back at JFK and 36th Avenue on a downhill segment. The 5K is a loop course that also starts and finishes at JFK and 36th Avenue and is run after the mile event.
Additional event details: free parking is available along JFK Drive. All participants receive a participant ribbon, and place ribbons are awarded to the Top 5 overall male, female, and nonbinary runners. The event proceeds regardless of weather, and there are no refunds. Entry options listed include individual entries for the 1 mile and the 5K, each with an entry fee of ten US dollars.
