Golden Gate Double Road Race
The Golden Gate Double takes place in San Francisco, California, centered around the historic Crissy Field near the Presidio. Participants run on a course that offers views of the Golden Gate Bridge for more than 80% of the distance. The event utilizes the paths of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, providing runners with coastal scenery throughout the competition.
Participants can choose from several distinct race distances:
- 10K
- 5K
- Double 8K (consisting of a 5K leg followed by a 3K leg)
The Double 8K is a unique multi-stage event where runners complete a 5K segment, take a scheduled break, and then finish with a 3K segment. All race distances are open to various age categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 plus.
The event provides a high-tech shirt for all entrants and a finisher medal for those who complete their respective courses. Specific awards are designated for winners within ten year age groups across the 10K, 5K, and Double 8K categories. Cash prizes are available for the top male and female finishers in the Double 8K distance, and trophies are awarded to the winners of each individual race.
