Golden Gate Double
The event comprises three road races held near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, with the course beginning on Crissy Field near the Presidio. The route passes through parts of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and includes views of the Golden Gate Bridge for more than 80 percent of the course.
Distances offered:
- Double 8K (5K plus a break then 3K)
- 10K
- 5K
Packet pickup is available the day before at Sports Basement, 610 Old Mason Street, San Francisco, and same day packet pickup is available at the event location.
All participants receive a high tech shirt and all finishers receive a special Golden Gate medal. Winners in the Double 8K, 10K and 5K are recognized with trophies and special medals within ten year age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. The Double 8K carries prize money totaling $200, with $100 awarded to the first overall man and $100 to the first overall woman.
