About the race
The Golden Gate Double is a multi-distance road event held at Crissy Field near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. The event day is Sunday, August 1, 2027, with packet pickup available the day before at Sports Basement, 610 Old Mason Street, San Francisco.
The courses start on historic Crissy Field near the Presidio and run through parts of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. More than 80% of the route offers views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Course maps are available for each distance.
Race offerings:
- Double 8K (5K leg, break, 3K leg)
- 10K
- 5K
All participants receive a high-tech shirt and all finishers receive a Golden Gate medal. Winners in the Double 8K, 10K, and 5K are recognized in ten-year age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 plus. The Double 8K includes prize money totaling $200, with $100 awarded to the first man and $100 to the first woman. Trophies are presented to race winners.
