Spreckels Lake 5K & San Franciscan Mile
This event offers two separate races on John F Kennedy Drive near Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The meeting point is at Kennedy Drive and 36th Avenue, across from Spreckels Lake.
Distances:
- 1 mile, moderately uphill course on Kennedy Drive
- 5K, loop on Kennedy Drive, Chain of Lakes path, MLK Jr. Drive, Transverse Drive
The one mile race starts near Spreckels Lake and finishes near Transverse Drive. Runners proceed eastbound on Kennedy Drive with an uphill section between the lake and Transverse Drive.
The 5K begins and ends near Spreckels Lake and follows a loop that uses paved and dirt paths. The route goes along Kennedy Drive, onto the Chain of Lakes dirt path, onto the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive pedestrian path, then Transverse Drive, and returns to Kennedy Drive for a downhill finish.
