SFRC Women's Trail Half Marathon presented by The North Face
The event is a women focused trail half marathon held in the Marin Headlands and organized by SFRC. The course covers 13.6 miles with 2,156 feet of climbing and follows rolling singletrack and coastal ridgelines with views of the Pacific Ocean, San Francisco Bay, and the Golden Gate Bridge. A 5.5 hour cutoff is in place for the course.
Pre-race activities include three community trail runs open to participants, offering The North Face demo shoes for trial on the terrain. Training support is provided through custom 10 week plans from a Bay Area coach, plus coached group runs and virtual office hours for questions and guidance. Chartered shuttle transportation is available for runners traveling from San Francisco with designated pickup and drop-off locations.
The event includes a $25,000 prize purse distributed to top finishers, with $10,000 for first place, $5,000 for second, $3,000 for third, and scaled awards through tenth place. SFRC will award twenty $250 Childcare Grants for participating mothers. A one-time pregnancy and postpartum deferral allows eligible registrants to transfer to the following year at no extra cost if requested at least 14 days before race day. Menstrual products will be available at all aid stations.
Post-race gathering is at The Junction in Mill Valley for food, drinks, and awards. Dogs are not allowed on the course as it runs through a National Recreation Area.
Packet pickup is on October 22 and October 23 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at San Francisco Running Company, 247 Shoreline Hwy, Mill Valley, CA. No race day packet pickup will be offered; a friend may pick up a packet with the registrant's confirmation or a signed note. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
