SFRC Women's Trail Half Marathon presented by The North Face
The SFRC Women's Trail Half Marathon takes place in the Marin Headlands near Mill Valley, California. The course covers 13.6 miles with 2,156 ft of elevation gain and includes two major Headlands climbs, rolling singletrack, coastal ridgelines, and views of the Pacific, San Francisco Bay, and the Golden Gate Bridge. The event uses a 5.5 hour cutoff to accommodate varied paces.
There are four aid stations on course stocked with Skratch Labs hydration, Maurten gels, and a selection of real food options. Menstrual products will be available at all aid stations. Dogs are not allowed on the course because it runs through a National Recreation Area.
Pre-race support includes a professionally designed training plan from Integrated Stride Coaching, three live virtual coaching sessions, and a complimentary one to one consultation. Community group runs are offered on August 8, September 5, September 19, and October 3; these no-drop trail runs will feature The North Face demo shoes and sponsor nutrition. Chartered shuttle service is available for runners traveling from San Francisco.
SFRC offers twenty $250 Childcare Grants for participating mothers and a one-time pregnancy and postpartum deferral allowing registered participants to transfer entry to the following year if requested at least 14 days before race day. The total prize purse is $25,000 with top payouts including $10,000 for first place and descending amounts through tenth place.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at San Francisco Running Company, 247 Shoreline Highway, Mill Valley, CA. A post-race gathering and awards will take place at The Junction, 226 Shoreline Highway, Mill Valley, CA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
