SFRC Women's Trail Half Marathon
SFRC stages a women's trail half in the Marin Headlands that follows singletrack and coastal ridgelines with sweeping views of the Pacific, San Francisco Bay, and the Golden Gate Bridge. The course is 13.6 miles long with 2,156 feet of climbing and includes two major Headlands climbs. A 5.5 hour cutoff is in place for the course.
There are four aid stations on course stocked with Skratch Labs hydration, Maurten gels, and a variety of real food options. Menstrual products will be available at all aid stations. A post race gathering is planned at The Junction in Mill Valley for food, drinks, awards, and presentations.
The organizer partners with Integrated Stride Coaching to provide a tailored training plan, three live virtual coaching sessions, and a complimentary one-on-one consultation for each participant. Participants also receive a discount code for follow-up individualized coaching after the event.
Community programming includes four no-drop trail group runs on August 8, September 5, September 19, and October 3, featuring The North Face demo shoes and sponsor nutrition. Shuttle service is offered for runners traveling from San Francisco. Packet pickup is scheduled for October 22 and October 23 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at San Francisco Running Company, 247 Shoreline Highway, Mill Valley; there is no race day packet pickup and a proxy may collect a packet with appropriate confirmation.
The event includes a $25,000 prize purse, twenty $250 childcare grants for participating mothers, and a one-time pregnancy and postpartum deferral policy that allows eligible registrants to transfer to the following year if requested at least 14 days before race day. Dogs are not allowed on the course as it runs through a National Recreation Area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
