Sport In Action Castle 5K - Race 5
The event is a measured 5 km road and park race held at The Sheepmount, Carlisle, Great Britain on 09 September 2026. The route uses a mixture of park paths, pavements and quiet roads and is described as mainly flat with generally good surfaces. The course begins with a loop of Bitts Park, continues past Carlisle Castle with two laps around the castle area, then returns to Sheepmount Stadium with the finish close to the small grandstand.
Registration opens on the day at 17:30 and race numbers will be issued at race registration. Online registration closes on 7 September 2026. A safety briefing will take place before the race and competitors are asked to follow the race director and marshals and to take care at turns because of traffic and cyclists.
A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at the event headquarters in accordance with UKA rules. Results will be published by the appointed timing provider shortly after the race.
Prizes are awarded to the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female finishers. Age group prizes are paid by BACS within seven days and are allocated according to the number of competitors in each category. The series sponsor for 2026 is AM Caravans. Withdrawal refunds are subject to a 50% charge if made more than one month before the event and no refunds are given after that date.
