AM Caravans Castle 5K Race 5, The Sheepmount, Carlisle
The event takes place on 09 September 2026 at The Sheepmount in Carlisle and is listed as sold out. The series sponsor for 2026 is AM Caravans, a Cumbria-based dealer of used touring caravans, used motorhomes and caravan servicing.
The course is an officially measured 5 km route using park paths, pavements and quiet roads that are mainly flat and generally in good condition. The route starts with a loop of Bitts Park, continues past Carlisle Castle with two laps around the castle, then returns to Sheepmount Stadium with the finish near the small grandstand. Participants are advised to take care at turns, follow marshals and the race director, and be aware of cars and cyclists.
Event documents such as race day information, a full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be available at the event headquarters. A race safety briefing will be held before the race.
Prizes are awarded to overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers. Age group prizes are paid by BACS within seven days and are awarded according to category size: 1 to 17 competitors 1st place only, 18 to 27 competitors 1st and 2nd, 28 or more competitors 1st to 3rd. Overall prize positions affect age group roll down so that age group awards follow the stated rules.
Withdrawals up to one month before the event incur a 50% charge; after that date no refunds are given. Results will be posted online shortly after the race, with an approximate timeline of ten minutes after the race start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
