AM Caravans Castle 5K Race 5 : The Sheepmount Carlisle, 09 September 2026
This event is a measured 5 km road and park race held at The Sheepmount in Carlisle. The course uses a mixture of park paths, pavements and quiet roads and is described as mainly flat with generally good road surfaces. The route begins with a loop of Bitts Park, passes Carlisle Castle where runners complete two laps, then returns to Sheepmount Stadium to finish close to the small grandstand.
Safety information is provided on site. Caution is advised at all turns and participants are expected to follow marshal and race director instructions and to be aware of traffic such as cars and cyclists. A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be displayed at event headquarters in line with UKA rules; the permit number is to be confirmed.
Prizes include overall male and female 1st to 3rd and age group awards. Age group prize allocation depends on the number of competitors in each category, and age group prize payments are made by BACS within seven days. A prize presentation for the top three men and women follows the race. The event is listed as sold out. The withdrawal policy states that cancellations made up to one month before the race are subject to a 50% charge and that no refunds are given after that deadline.
