Great Cumbrian Run 2026
The Great Cumbrian Run takes place on Sunday 4 October 2026 at The Sheepmount, Carlisle. The event is the 42nd running and has been renamed The Cumbria Waste Group Great Cumbrian Run following sponsorship by Cumbria Waste Group. The sponsor will support on-site waste management and recycling to reduce the event's environmental impact.
The event is managed by Better and Sport in Action. Multiple race distances are offered, including a family fun run and officially measured courses for 2026. Race numbers entered by 20 September will be posted to those entrants; later entrants can collect numbers during registration in the days before the race. Registration closes on 1 October 2026.
Charity partners for 2026 include Eden Valley Hospice, Every Life Matters, Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, and ICAAN. The programme lists different age limits for the routes and notes the family fun run is timed for 2026.

- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon, 17 years plus)
- 10 km (15 years plus)
- 3.1 Miles (5K, 11 years plus for the youth category)
- 1.1 Miles (Family Fun Run, any age, timed for 2026)
