Sport In Action 5K Series
The Sport In Action 5K Series continues with its fourth race held at The Sheepmount in Carlisle. This event follows a route that incorporates a variety of surfaces including park paths, pavements, and quiet roads. The terrain is primarily flat and uses an officially measured course conducted under UKA rules.
The route begins with a loop of Bitts Park before heading toward Carlisle Castle. Participants complete two laps around the castle grounds and then return toward the Sheepmount Stadium. The finish line is located near the small grandstand within the stadium area. The event offers two distance options for participants:
- 5 km
- 10 km
Race day logistics include an on-site registration where participants receive their race numbers. A full risk assessment, route maps, and measurement certificates are displayed at the event headquarters. Results are processed digitally and are typically available shortly after the event concludes.
Awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place male and female finishers. Additionally, age group prizes are awarded based on the number of competitors in each category. These age-specific prizes are distributed via BACS payment following the event. The race is supported by local health, fitness, and automotive partners.
