Sport In Action 5K Series - Castle 5K (Race 4)
The event takes place on 12 August 2026 at The Sheepmount, Carlisle, Great Britain. Distances offered at the meeting include:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course uses a mixture of park paths, pavements and quiet roads and is described as mainly flat with generally good surfaces. The route begins with a loop of Bitts Park, returns toward Carlisle Castle for two laps around the castle area, then proceeds back to Sheepmount Stadium with the finish area close to the small grandstand. Caution is advised at turns and competitors should follow marshal instructions and be aware of traffic and cyclists.
The 5 km route is officially measured and a full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at the event headquarters in accordance with UKA rules (permit number to be confirmed). A race safety briefing is scheduled on race day.
Prizes are awarded to the overall first, second and third male and female finishers and age-group prizes are distributed according to entry numbers: one place for 1–17 competitors, two places for 18–27, and three places for 28 or more. If an age-group finisher places in the overall prizes, the age-group award rolls down as described in the event rules.
Withdrawals made within one month of race day incur a 50% charge; after that date no refunds are available. Race results will be published via the event timing provider. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
