AM Caravans Castle 5K Race 4
The event takes place on 12 August 2026 at The Sheepmount, Carlisle, with AM Caravans as the series sponsor. The race uses an officially measured 5 km route that mixes park paths, pavements and quiet roads. Surfaces are reported as generally good and the course is mainly flat.
The route begins with a loop of Bitts Park, continues past Carlisle Castle where runners complete two laps, and returns to Sheepmount Stadium with a finish near the small grandstand. Caution is advised at turns; marshals will be present and athletes are asked to follow the race director’s instructions and to be aware of the dangers posed by cars and cyclists.
Race numbers will be issued at registration. A full course risk assessment, maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be available at the event headquarters in line with UKA rules (permit number TBA).
Prizes are awarded for overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female. Age group prizes are paid by BACS within seven days; prize allocation varies by the number of competitors in each age group and age group prizes roll down if the finisher also places in the overall prizes.
The withdrawal policy applies a 50% charge for cancellations up to one month before the event; after that date no refunds are given. Race results will be published on the Timing Up North results site shortly after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
