Event details
The event takes place on Wednesday 12 August 2026 at The Sheepmount, Carlisle, Great Britain. The race is an officially measured 5 km route. Registration closes on 10 August 2026. Entry options listed include affiliated and unaffiliated single-race entries and two-race entries, with prices starting at £14.00 plus fees. Results will be posted on timingupnorthresults.co.uk.
Course, safety and prizes
The route uses a mixture of park paths, pavements and quiet roads and is described as mainly flat with generally good road surfaces. The route starts with a loop of Bitts Park, passes Carlisle Castle for two laps, and finishes near the small grandstand at Sheepmount Stadium. Caution is advised at turns and participants should follow marshal instructions and be aware of cars and cyclists. A full course risk assessment, route maps and the measurement certificate will be on display at event headquarters on race day in line with UKA rules.
Prizes are awarded to the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers. Age group prizes are paid by BACS within seven days and are awarded by category size: 1 to 17 competitors - 1st only; 18 to 27 - 1st and 2nd; 28 or more - 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Withdrawals one month prior to race day incur a 50% charge; after that date no refunds are given. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
