Event overview

The Blencathra Marathon is a fell and trail marathon held on Sunday 6 September 2026, with the event base at Caldbeck Parish Hall (CA7 8EU). The route is a circular course starting and finishing in Caldbeck and is intended for experienced fell and trail runners and for fell walkers aged 18 or older. Route and logistics

The route includes five Wainwright summits: Bowscale Fell, Blencathra, Mungrisdale Common, Knott, and High Pike. There are two checkpoints on the course where water is available; snacks are provided at the first checkpoint and hot drinks and snacks are provided at the finish. Entrants may be accompanied by self-sufficient support runners. A 12-hour cut-off applies to complete the course. Parking is available in the village. Entry fees listed are £60 standard and £58 for affiliated entrants; the fee includes a finishers medal, a t-shirt, water checkpoints, snacks, hot drinks at the end, GPS tracking, and event trophies for 1st to 3rd in male, female, and non-binary categories.
