CBTE Blencathra Marathon
The CBTE Blencathra Marathon is a fully tracked fell and trail event held on 5 September 2027, based in Caldbeck. The route is a circular marathon of about 26.4 miles with an overall ascent just under 6000 ft.
Runners and walkers leave from and return to Caldbeck and traverse five Wainwright summits in the sequence used on the day. The named summits on the route are Bowscale, Blencathra, Mungrisdale Common, Knott and High Pike.
The event is described as suitable for experienced fell and trail runners and for fell walkers. The minimum age for entry is 18 years. Trophies are awarded for first, second and third places in male, female and non-binary categories.
The entry fee includes a finishers medal, two water and snack checkpoints on course, and snacks and hot drinks at the finish. Parking is available in the village. Entries are open from 4 August 2026 and close on 15 August 2027. Entry fees are stated as £58 for affiliated runners and £60 for non affiliated runners.
