Blencathra Marathon

The Blencathra Marathon is a challenging fell running event taking place in Caldbeck, featuring a 26.5-mile circular route with an elevation gain of nearly 6000 feet. Designed for experienced fell and trail runners, the course includes five Wainwright summits: Bowscale, Blencathra, Mungrisdale Common, Knott, and High Pike. Participants will receive a finisher's medal, t-shirt, and refreshments at the end of the race.

Trophies are awarded for the top three finishers in male, female, and non-binary categories. The event emphasizes a supportive atmosphere, with parking available in the village. Entries open in September 2024 and close in June 2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
