Blencathra Marathon
The Blencathra Marathon is a fell event located in the northern fells, designed for experienced runners and walkers. The course covers a distance of 26.4 miles with a total elevation gain of approximately 5875 feet. The event follows a circular route that begins and ends at Caldbeck Parish Hall.
The route incorporates five Wainwright summits. Participants will summit Bowscale Fell, Blencathra, Mungrisdale Common, Knott, and High Pike during the course of the marathon. The event has an inclusive 12-hour cut-off time, making it accessible for those who intend to walk the distance.
Water and snack stations are positioned at two checkpoints along the course, and hot drinks are provided at the finish line. The event is fully tracked using GPS technology. Participants are required to be at least 18 years old and must adhere to a specific kit list.

Registration takes place at the Caldbeck Parish Hall, where parking is available within the village. The entry fee includes a finishers medal and a t-shirt, though participants have the option to plant a tree through the Trees Not Tees initiative instead of receiving a shirt.
