CBTE Blencathra Marathon
The Blencathra Marathon is a trail and fell event held on 5 September 2027 that starts and finishes in Caldbeck. The circular route covers approximately 26.4 miles with a total ascent of just under 6000 ft and is fully tracked. The course visits five Wainwright summits: Bowscale, Blencathra, Mungrisdale Common, Knott and High Pike.
The event is described as suitable for experienced fell and trail runners and for fell walkers. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fees listed are GBP 58 for affiliated competitors and GBP 60 for non-affiliated competitors. Entries open on 4 August 2026 and close on 15 August 2027. The event is organised by The Charm Bracelet Marathon.
Entry includes a finishers medal, two water and snack checkpoints on course, and snacks and hot drinks at the finish. Parking is available in the village. Trophies are awarded to first, second and third places in male, female and non-binary categories. The event offers an option to purchase XCover for possible refund protection.
