Sport In Action 5K Series
The Sport In Action 5K Series features an officially measured course held in Carlisle. The event takes place at The Sheepmount and incorporates a route through the local parklands and historic landmarks. The course is primarily flat and consists of a mixture of park paths, pavements, and quiet roads with generally good surfaces.
Participants begin the race with a loop of Bitts Park before heading toward Carlisle Castle. The route requires runners to complete two laps of the castle area. After these laps, the course leads back to the Sheepmount Stadium, where the finish line is located near the small grandstand. The event is conducted under UKA rules and includes a full course risk assessment and measurement certificate.

Prizes are awarded to the first, second, and third male and female finishers. Additionally, age group prizes are provided based on the number of competitors in each category, with payments processed via BACS after the event. Race results are typically available approximately ten minutes after the start of the race through an external timing service.
