Run Cumbria Solway Marathon 7 June 2026
The Solway Marathon is a road marathon held in Anthorn, Wigton, in North West Cumbria. The course is flat and runs on rural roads and coastal lanes. The route makes two loops through country lanes around Bowness-on-Solway and returns to Anthorn via coastal roads. The course is certified as a road Marathon and holds a course measurement certificate for 2025. The measurement is recognised by Run Britain and the result can be used as a good for age qualification for marathons such as London and Boston.
Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and an optional event T shirt is available at extra cost. The event lists road surface and traffic free running. Water stations are provided approximately every three miles and distance markers appear every mile.
Event facilities include a race headquarters and registration at a village hall in Anthorn, toilets at race HQ, changing facilities, parking and first aid. Prizes are awarded to top finishers and teams with trophies and vouchers for the first three men and women overall and for top teams. Entry is limited to 300 runners. Minimum age is 17.
