Pooley Bridge Wild Trail Runs

Pooley Bridge Wild Trail Runs takes place on Saturday 5 June 2027 in the village of Pooley Bridge at the northern tip of Ullswater. The event base is Waterside Campsite (Waterside Farm), Pooley Bridge, Penrith, CA10 2NA, which provides lake and mountain views and direct access to the course.

The event offers two distances:

  • Half Marathon - 13.1 miles (21.1 km)
  • 10 km Trail Run - 6.2 miles (10 km)

The event is Cani-Cross friendly. Participants may run with one well-controlled dog that must wear an appropriate harness and remain on a lead at all times.

Half marathon entrants must carry mandatory kit: a backpack or running vest with water, a lightweight jacket, a fully charged mobile phone, and gels or snacks. Random kit checks will be carried out.

Live Chip Timing is used, provided by Timing Up North, to record race results. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack. A custom event t-shirt is available as an optional extra for £14. Parking is available on-site for £5. Entry fees are shown at £25 for the 10 km and £28 for the half marathon.

The event supports Patterdale Mountain Rescue. The Patterdale team is a volunteer mountain rescue service covering about 140 square kilometres around the Ullswater Valley and is on call 24 hours a day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
