Spirit of the Lakes 5K
The Spirit of the Lakes 5K is the inaugural road event presented by the Mound Westonka Rotary as part of the Spirit of the Lakes Festival on July 18, 2026. The course begins and ends at Lost Lake Commons (5515 Shoreline Drive, Mound, MN 55364) and follows a flat out and back route on the Dakota Rail Regional Trail.
Registration options include a chip timed 5K with race bib and commemorative shirt, a Kids 5K for ages 12 and under, and a Family Fun Run/Walk category. Children age 7 and under may register free. Packet pickup is available during the festival at Surfside Park on July 16 and July 17, and on race day at Lost Lake Commons.
All event proceeds benefit the Mound Westonka Rotary Foundation. Funds raised support local scholarships, youth programs, and community service projects in the Westonka area. The event schedule includes a community parade following the race and vendor opportunities and sponsorship packages for businesses, including placements on race materials and at the start and finish.
