Twin Cities Twilight Relays
The Twin Cities Twilight Relays is a team-based running event held at Thomas Beach on Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis. This annual summer race centers on a four-person relay format, where each participant completes a full loop around the lake. Every team member covers the same distance, resulting in a total combined distance of 13 miles per group.
- 4-person team relay: Each member runs approximately 3.25 miles.
The event is timed and includes several award categories for the fastest teams. Registration is managed through a team captain who creates the team name and handles the initial entry fee, while subsequent members join the established group.
The race hub is the Relay Festival located at Thomas Beach. This central area serves as the start and finish point for all runners and features amenities such as team tents, a live DJ, and food trucks. An Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic beer garden is also available on-site. Participants can choose to volunteer or donate to the Minneapolis Parks Foundation as part of the event's charitable efforts.
