Lake Rebecca Triathlon : Rockford, MN
Lake Rebecca Triathlon takes place at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve in Rockford, Minnesota, about 30 miles west of downtown Minneapolis. The event uses a clear, non motorboat lake for the swim, low-traffic county roads with wide shoulders for the bike, and a shaded run through mature trees. Parking is located close to the transition area and there is space for spectators and families near the course.
Events offered:
- Sprint: 600 yard swim, 14 mile bike, 5k run.
- Super Sprint: Roughly 125 yard swim parallel to shore, 5.7 mile bike, 1.3 mile run.
Transition area rules restrict access to participants and event staff; triathlon clubs have designated sections. Participants enter transition from the south after the swim; bikes leave and enter from the north; the run leaves from the south and begins along the east side of transition.
Swim wave sizes and starting order are set the week of the event, with the Sprint wave ahead of the Super Sprint. Age group waves place swimmers with others in the same gender and age group.
At packet pickup participants receive a custom bib, a swim cap, a wristband, and pins; race chips must be collected on race day and athletes will be body marked. Headphones are not permitted on any part of the course.
Awards include overall 1st to 3rd male and female results, first place master and grand master men and women, and age group first place certificates spanning 19 and under through 80 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
