Event
The Special Steps 5k takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Kingsland, GA. This is the fourth annual running of the event. It is held to celebrate and support a non-profit organization that serves local adults with exceptional needs. The event offers a 5K run/walk and states that all ages and abilities are welcome and accommodated. Meetings for the organization include creative activities, athletic activities, and skills development.
Awards and practical information
Registration is listed at $25, and the price increases after April 10, 2026. All participants receive a race shirt and a drawstring backpack goodie bag. Overall awards are offered for first, second, and third place men and women, with prizes provided by a local running company and related partners. Age group awards are presented to the top three men and top three women in these categories: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 plus; an individual may receive only one award (overall or age group). The largest team receives goodie bags, recognition, and photos.
The course includes water stations on the route and at the finish line. Packet pickup and race registration take place in the PSA Community Room.
