Special Steps 5k
The Special Steps 5k is an annual community event held in Kingsland, Georgia. This fifth edition of the race serves to support a local non-profit organization dedicated to adults with exceptional needs. The organization coordinates various activities for its members, ranging from creative projects and athletic pursuits to the development of new skills.
The event is hosted at Chris Gilman Stadium, with the official course starting and finishing at the stadium's 50-yard line. Participants can choose to run, walk, or stroll the distance. The event is designed to accommodate individuals of all ages and abilities. Water stations are positioned along the course and at the finish line to support all participants.

All participants receive a race shirt and a drawstring backpack goodie bag. The event includes competitive awards for the top three male and female finishers overall. Additionally, awards are presented to the top three finishers in both gender categories across several age groups, including 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 plus. A special award is also given to the largest participating team. Packet pickup is organized at the stadium on the morning of the event.
