Doreen Myers 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The Doreen Myers 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run take place as part of the 38th Annual Woodbine Crawfish Festival in Woodbine, Georgia. This community event incorporates a footrace into a larger festival program that features arts and crafts, live music, and family entertainment along the riverfront.
Participants in the 5K event follow a route that travels through the city of Woodbine and along the local boardwalk. The course finishes at the Satilla Waterfront Park located on the banks of the Satilla River. In addition to the main race, there is a dedicated event for younger participants:
- 5K run and walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run and Walk for children and youth under the age of 12
Proceeds from the 5K race are directed to Safe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Centers serving Camden, Glynn, and Wayne counties. The festival atmosphere surrounding the race includes various forms of entertainment such as cloggers, square dancers, and live bands. The event provides an opportunity for runners and walkers to experience the local scenery of the Satilla River area while supporting a regional advocacy organization.
