Event overview
South Wales - Spinning Around takes place on Saturday 25 April 2026 at the Rock UK Summit Centre, The Old Drift Mine, Trelewis, Merthyr Tydfil, CF46 6RD. The event is a timed, multi-lap format held on a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out-and-back course through Parc Taf Bargoed, a Green Flag park. The format allows entrants to run or walk as many laps as they choose within a full 7-hour time limit. Organisers operate flexible, staggered start options and a "rock up and run" approach to start times.
Course and entries
The lap course has an overall elevation gain of 37 m. The route is multi-terrain: the majority is on tarmac paths with about 0.5 miles on riverside trail. The minimum distance is one lap (3.28 miles) or as far as a participant can go in the 7-hour limit. A Welsh Athletics race license has been applied for.
