Event details
The Sock It To Me Santa 5k takes place on December 13, 2025 in Asheville, NC, with the event base at Asheville Middle School (211 S French Broad Ave). The event benefits the Asheville City School band programs. Registration opens August 1 and closes at midnight on December 12 or when the event sells out; the field is capped at 400 runners. Early packet pick up is scheduled for the evening before the race; race morning packet pick up opens at Asheville Middle School gymnasium. The organizer has a no-refund policy; in case of inclement weather the race may be postponed to January 10, 2026.
Race format and course
Distances:
- 5k (chip timed; includes t-shirt, finisher medal, custom bib)
- Kids Snowflake Chaser (one loop on the track; includes bib and finisher medal)
The 5k course runs through downtown Asheville, including the South Slope and River Arts District areas. Dogs and other animals are not allowed on the course for safety and insurance reasons; service animals may be allowed with prior approval more than five days before race day and supporting documentation. Awards include top finishers, masters and grand masters prizes, age-group gift certificates, costume prizes, and a finisher medal for all 5k participants.
