Event overview
The Sock It To Me Santa 5k takes place on December 13, 2025 in Asheville, NC, and benefits the Asheville City School band programs. The event features a chip timed 5k road race that follows a course through downtown Asheville, including the South Slope and River Arts District, and a kids fun run called the Snowflake Chaser (one loop on the track, for 12 and under). All 5k finishers receive a finisher medal and a race shirt while supplies last.
Registration, logistics and awards
Registration is limited and closes before race day or at sell out; there is no race day registration. Packet pick up is available in advance at Second Gear (Westgate Plaza) and race day packet pick up is handled at Asheville Middle School gymnasium. The event has a no refund policy; transfers to a virtual entry or to another runner or distance are allowed up to five days before the event. If the race is postponed for inclement weather it may be moved to January 10, 2026. Awards include gift certificates for top finishers (top three male and female, plus Masters and Grand Masters), age-group awards for top three finishers in each listed category, costume prizes, and a Middle of the Pack award.
