Sock It To Me Santa 5k
Sock It To Me Santa is a holiday 5K event in Asheville, NC on December 12, 2026 that raises funds for Asheville City Schools band programs. Registration opens July 1 and remains available online until midnight December 11 or until the event sells out. The event is chip timed and takes place in downtown Asheville, with a course that passes through the South Slope and River Arts District areas.
Distances
- 5K chip timed; includes long sleeve tech t-shirt, custom bib, finisher medal
- Snowflake Chaser kids one loop on the track; includes bib and finisher medal
Packet pickup is offered the day before at Devils Foot Brewing’s The Mule and at Asheville Middle School on race day; there is no race day registration. All 5K runners receive a long sleeve tech shirt, a custom race bib, chip timing, and a finisher medal. The kids Snowflake Chaser has a separate entry fee and a finisher medal.
Dogs and other animals are not allowed on the course for safety; service animals may be allowed with prior approval and documentation, and running with an animal will result in disqualification from awards and timing results. Awards include top finishers by gender categories and for masters and grand masters, plus age group prizes across standard age brackets. Costume awards are planned. The event has a no refund policy; transfers to virtual running or other runners are allowed up to five days before the event.
