South Asheville Turkey Trot presented by Hunter Subaru
The South Asheville Turkey Trot is the 8th annual 5K taking place in Biltmore Park Town Square in South Asheville, North Carolina on November 26, 2026. The in-person event is USATF certified, professionally chip-timed, and the course will be fully marked. A virtual 5K option is available; virtual participants receive event swag by mail.
All participants receive a commemorative finisher medal that features a spinning turkey. Registrations completed by November 1 include a complimentary Run Grateful shirt in adult and youth sizes; shirts ordered after that date are available for purchase in limited quantities. Participants 12 and under have a reduced registration price through November 15. A pre-event shipping option for race packets is offered until November 1 and shipments are sent approximately one and a half to two weeks before the race.
Packet pickup occurs at The Trot Shop located at the Hilton Asheville Biltmore Park. The event includes a Best Dressed Turkey contest with individual and group award categories. The race partners with nonprofit Least of These Asheville; donations can be made through the event fundraising pages and items can be dropped at packet pickup. Current needs include individual bags of chips, packs of crackers, granola bars, trail mix, fruit gummies, and hygiene supplies such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, and cleansing wipes.
