South Asheville Turkey Trot
The South Asheville Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving tradition held in Biltmore Park, Asheville, NC. The event on November 26, 2026 takes place in and around Biltmore Park Town Square and uses neighborhood streets for the route. Registration opens April 30, 2026.
The event features a relaxed 5K (3.1 miles) course that starts and ends in Biltmore Park Town Square. The route passes through quiet residential streets with few moderate hills and minimal vehicle traffic, and local residents and guests commonly cheer along the course. The race is chip timed on a USATF certified, fully marked course.
Event amenities include a complimentary race shirt for early registrants (note: a shirt fee of $20 applies after November 2), a custom commemorative finisher medal for the first 1,500 registrants, and a Hunter Subaru goody bag. Awards are given to overall and age-group top finishers, and prizes are offered for creative costumes and outfits. A virtual participation option is available for runners and walkers who cannot attend in person.
