A group discount applies for groups of four or more who register together.
Courses and practical information
The 5k starts at the Town of Black Mountain Recreation & Parks parking lot at 304 Black Mountain Ave. The course includes a climb through downtown for the first mile, a plateau and downhill section onto the Lake Tomahawk loop, a water stop at the Tomahawk Park parking lot, and a final uphill through the Laurel Circle neighborhood to the finish. The Wishbone 1 Miler is an out-and-back that uses the same start and finish location; it is suitable for children and allows strollers and leashed dogs.
Early packet pick up is scheduled the day before at Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain. All participants receive a reclaimed wooden finisher medal; there are costume prizes and awards for top finishers and age-group places. The event has a no-refund policy; transfers to another runner or to the virtual option are allowed up to five days before the event.
