Asheville Turkey Trot : event overview
The 25th Annual Downtown Asheville Turkey Trot takes place on November 27, 2025 in Asheville, NC. The event includes two distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Gobble Wobble Fun Run
Online registration is open. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed for late registrants; shirts are not guaranteed if registration is not completed by November 1. Portions of the race proceeds benefit MANNA FoodBank. The course is USATF certified and race timing is provided by Right On Time Productions.
Logistics, course and awards
Early packet pickup is at Fred Anderson Subaru, 110 S Bear Creek Rd, Asheville, on the day before the race. Race day packet pickup is at Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville. The 5K starts on Woodfin Street in front of the downtown YMCA, runs through the Montford neighborhood, and finishes at Pack Square Park / City-County Plaza. The course is not completely closed to traffic. No pets are allowed on the course. Strollers are permitted and will be directed to start at the back. There is a water stop on Murdock Street.
Timing notes: bibs should be displayed on the front and the timing chip on the back of the bib should not be folded. Chip times are for participant information; gun time determines awards. 5K awards include overall and masters prizes plus age-group awards. A costume contest awards categories such as Funniest, Best Turkey, Most Creative, Best Group, and Youth. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
